The aim of the Harmonie orchestra is not to train professional musicians, but to teach children perseverance and responsibility. At the same time, children also learn from each other. Those who have been in the orchestra for a long time help newcomers by sharing their experience. This creates a wonderful community that includes children of all ages and skill levels. Teaching and instrument rental are free of charge.
We are a founding member of Sistema Europe, an organisation that brings together similar programmes across Europe. Young musicians then have the opportunity to meet at camps or music workshops and learn how things work in other countries.
We teach children that, just as every instrument has its place in an orchestra, every person has their place in society. Just as each instrument influences the orchestra’s overall sound, each individual influences society as a whole through their voice and approach.
‼️Unfortunately, this wonderful project is now under threat in the Czech Republic! Due to a lack of funds, the Harmonie Foundation will be forced to cease its activities. We are therefore looking for ways to reverse this situation.
Help us save the idea of school orchestras and music education in the Czech Republic, which would be open to all children without distinction.
