Advent matinee at the Švanda Theatre sold out again, with the audience enjoying Christmas music.
The Advent matinee at the Švanda Theatre is a gift that we give to our young musicians and their audience, and that we all enjoy together before Christmas Eve.
It is a gift that we spend time preparing, so that it is as beautiful and enjoyable as possible. Because we also invited the choir from the Klánovice Claireton Chorale this year, it was full of Christmas music, which was both played and sung.
For many of the children who have been playing with us since September, this was their first concert playing a musical instrument, and the two Christmas carols played by the children in the preparatory class sounded very good.
This concert was special because it commemorated the anniversaries of three Czech composers: Jiří Teml, Jaroslav Uhlíř and Zdeněk Barták. Several of their beautiful Christmas compositions were performed.
However, none of this would have been possible without the support and 16 years of volunteer work from Milada Cholujová, the incredible professionalism and patience of the teaching team with the children, and the dedication of all the members of the Harmonie Foundation and the helping parents.
Every concert that we organise depends on donors who help cover the costs. We were able to hold this year’s Advent matinee at the Švanda Theatre thanks to the support of Prague 5 and OSA, z.s. We are also grateful for the continued support of our loyal media partner, Classic Praha FM radio, who have been with us on the airwaves for many years.
