Workshop in Sweden, June 14 – 18.2015

Thanks to the Harmonie Foundation also children from the Czech Republic had their first opportunity to attend the unique music camp Side-by-Side, which has been held in various European towns for several years now for children involved in the projects inspired by the El Sistema music education program.

In the Swedish town of Gothenburg, our small musicians, members of the Harmonie Foundation Orchestra, performed side-by-side children from 19 countries, including Canada and the United States. They joined in forming a 600-member orchestra under the baton of the Venezuelan conductor Ron Davis. There were approximately 300 violinists, 50 viola players, 80 violoncellists, 50 trumpeters etc. in the orchestra. Professional musicians from all over the world (Korea, Venezuela, Sweden, United States, Switzerland, Spain, Greenland, Austria etc.) rehearsed with the individual groups of instruments.
